Frequently Asked Questions

From its inception, Chemy Lane has focused on source transparency and maintaining researcher autonomy, ensuring that they remain in control of every step of the research process.

Our database is exclusively dedicated to chemistry and compiles information from a wide range of sources, including: Semantic Scholar (for their organized bibliographic data), PubChem (for synonym and chemical property data), ArXiv, ChemRxiv, OpenAlex, Core, CrossRef, DOAJ, OpenAIRE, OSTI, PubAg, SerpApi, as well as articles from major private publishers:

  • Springer Nature
  • Taylor & Francis
  • Wiley

The application also allows you to import your own documents, which will be analyzed and compared with existing literature on the subject.

Chemy Lane generates clear and precise reports based on the analyzed data. These reports include detailed results, interactive visualizations, and reliable references. Exporting is available in various formats (XLSX, BibTeX), making sharing and collaboration easier—one of the application’s key strengths.

Finally, Chemy Lane is the only application to provide an ecological scoring of molecules. We assess the environmental impact of using the solution and implement compensation measures to reduce it.

Researchers (Company or contract research organization (contract research organization), SME, University, Multinational,Institutional or private research laboratory) commonly use Chemy Lane to:

  • Identify avenues for innovation
  • Prepare regulatory submission
  • Conduct a literature review for an article or a conference
  • Gather competitive intelligence
  • Develop a new catalytic process, for example
  • Optimize their scientific article purchase budget

Professionals (Industrial property attorneys / Lawyers / Innovation consultants and innovation financing / Technical sales representatives / Very small businesses) commonly use Chemy Lane to:

  • Document a legal argument in intellectual property (IP) litigation
  • Conduct a comparative analysis of innovation
  • Perform compliance research
  • Optimize your budget for purchasing scientific articles
  • Build a sales argument
  • Quickly access a state-of-the-art review useful for innovation funding applications (CIR, CII, etc.)

Students commonly use Chemy Lane to:

  • Conduct a literature review for a research project
  • Validate the relevance of a research project
  • Easily highlight the originality of the project
  • Participate in a collaborative research project
  • Format and automatically generate a bibliography
  • Prepare a presentation, a course, or a conference

Chemy Lane supports you throughout the process of collecting and analyzing articles:

  • Search, import, and identify the most relevant articles.
  • Create or import your own collection of articles.
  • Review and extract data from your collection.

Use both the articles available on Chemy Lane and those you have collected, which you can upload from your computer.
You can perform multiple iterative searches to identify the most relevant articles on a topic, either through a traditional list view or by using our recommendation features (graphs or lists).

This process can be repeated as often as needed. After selecting your articles, you can organize them into collections, which will serve as the foundation for your literature review (bibliography).

From your collections—which can also be imported from BibTeX files or various applications like Zotero or EndNote—the content of the selected articles (available on Chemy Lane or through your institutional access) can be extracted by our AI models. This content is then structured to be presented, retrieved, or formatted into PowerPoint slides.

Chemy Lane uses tokens to ensure a reasonable use of our application. For example : a “standard” search using all the functions included in ESSENTIALS subscription requires around 1000 Tokens.

When you submit documents for analysis in Chemy Lane, they remain confidential: the data is encrypted and shared exclusively with authorized personnel within your organization.
